To an all evening event at MÜSZI Art Centre & Community Space
On March 29, 2013
You are cordially invited to the event „HG60 – aesthetic disobedience” organized on Gábor Hunya’s 60th birthday on March 29, 2013 at MÜSZI Art Centre & Community Space in Budapest.
We took the opportunity of the anniversary to organize an exhibition and artist talk around an up to date question: What is the artistic status of artworks, actions and performances inspired by everyday politics? How do political events influence artists’ practices? What role do these artworks play in the framework of their oeuvre? And, what is their art historical value outside the triggering context?
These and related issues serve as points of departure for an artists’ talk and an exhibition based on artworks in Gábor Hunya’s private collection. The structure of the collection allows for a joint presentation of Hungarian and Romanian, recent and past, local and international positions. The selection will also include references to the most current political and cultural debates in Hungary.
Exhibition: 2META, Matei Bejenaru, Lőrinc Borsos, Imre Bukta, Dumitru Gorzo, Tibor Horváth, István Nádler, Csaba Nemes, Gyula Pauer, Sándor Pinczehelyi, Péter Prutkay, János Sugár, János Szirtes, Sorin Tara and ZUZU-KINA.
